Bg info

School level: AAAA (I think theres AAAAA?, but AAAA is still pretty good, our schools got a lot of kids, but less than every other school in our league)

previous 2 years record- 1-19

HAVEN'T WON A GAME IN 16 straight games... last year, we were moved into a tougher division with all the POWERHOUSES in the area, and have struggled ever since and before this change.. going 1-9 before hte change.. 0-10 last year.. (until this past weekend which I'll tell you about)..

about myself- I'm a senior at Billy T HS, footballs basically my life.. first year playin football was going into 8th grade, for a 105-lb team in the area.. sucked terribly..quit when school football started @ school..

8th grade- played for my middle school, started at TE and CB.. didnt know much about the sport, and really wasnt the greatest to be honest.. highlight of that season was the annual game versus the two middle-schools in the district.. had a 90 yard TD catch, otherwise didnt do much the entire year

9th grade- started on the freshman team, again overshadowed by a better player at my positions.. I played WR and CB once again.. wasn't very good (dont ask how i managed to start both ways) .. Varsity at this time did great, going to hte playoffs and losing, but winning our division..

10th grade- played for the sophmore team, and dressed varsity.. started bothways for this team too, we only won 1 game for the sophmore team, and suprisingly, 1 game for varsity.. i saw the field sparingly, but when we were getting crushed (which was often), i'd get time at WR, usually to run out the clock.. still WR and CB

11th grade- here is where I saw a lot of action.. the players I told you about in 9th grade that were better than me, played my position (really only one kid, and upper classmen) started varsity since 10th grade.. so this year I was alone to lead the team for JV.. highlights of my jv team, where we won some games, was one game where I had 10 catches, for 123 yards, and 2 touchdowns.. I loved every second of it.
Varsity- we went 0-10, but midway through hte year, due to injuries I started both ways, with the other kid in my grade who again overshadowed me at boht positions. he's just a stud on O and D..

stats- had 5 catches varsity for 87 yards I want to say?, 1 was a 67 yard gain, deep ball, where I was covered and somehow found a hole down the sideline..

12th grade- ??????????

As you can see, going 0-10, 1-9 to my senior year its a big deal.. "whatever it takes just get it done".. a sign in our weightroom used to say.. whatever it takes to turn hte program around i'd do it.

First day, late in the season

I know we are already going into week 4, but better late than never.

I want to introduce myself. I am John Doe, highschool football player for Billy T High School in a state where high school football is pretty popular.. Not a Texas, or a Florida, but a pretty respectable state. I've been thinking about doin this for sometime, and what that is exactly, is keep you guys up to date on what the (football) life of a highschool player is like.

This is for all those interested, that never played football and wanna hear exactly what its like, those that have played that just miss it and want to get in the head of a current one to compare differences, or actually those that really enjoy football.
I've noticed, the coverage on practices and game-prep for highschool is largely unfound in the news, and that really, the most interesting level of football is the highschool level. you may be thinking, wow this kid doesn't know shit about the other levels, how can he make that judgement? Well i really don't know. but i can tell you, if you like football, this stuff will interest you at least a little bit.

I konw I'm starting well into the season, past camp past preseason, so in my next post I'll keep you updated on what has happened thus far into the season..
